Description:
About Our Family & Philosophy
We are an active, lively, and engaged household that deeply values outdoor time, structured routines, and hands-on learning. Our home has a warm, energetic flow— structured enough that our children feel secure, but relaxed and full of laughter. We prioritize raising our children to become polite, thoughtful, and kind human beings, helping them build independence, confidence, and curiosity through everyday experiences.
Our parenting style maintains a mindful balance of consistency and flexibility:
- Predictable Rhythms: Steady routines for naps, meals, and transitions, while leaving plenty of room for play, exploration, and child-led discovery.
- True Partnership: We view our nanny as a crucial partner and a trusted extension of our family—someone whose expertise and authority we genuinely respect.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly engaged career nanny to care for our three young children. One parent occasionally works on a hybrid schedule, but we strictly respect the nanny's authority and routine when home.
With young children close in age, the ideal candidate will confidently manage overlapping schedules, keeping the children meaningfully engaged while maintaining a steady daily flow. We are looking for a long-term professional who brings initiative, strong judgment, and a genuine enjoyment of early childhood development to grow alongside our family.
Core Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Care: Full daily care of all children, managing overlapping schedules with patience and grace.
- Developmental & Play-Based Learning: Design and implement daily age-appropriate, screen-free enrichment activities (fine/gross motor skills, sensory exploration, arts & crafts, and early literacy).
- Community & Outdoor Engagement: Maintain an active daily schedule regardless of the season. Plan outings to museums, zoos, libraries, and nature centers, and foster social skills through playdates.
- Daily Logistics & Tracking: Manage routines confidently, including independent sleep reinforcement and tracking daily metrics (naps, nutrition, milestones) for seamless parental handoffs.
- Life Skills & Independence: Support age-appropriate independence, helping the children learn to take pride in dressing, hygiene, and clean-up routines.
- Child-Related Upkeep: Handle day-to-day child-related tidying to keep the day running smoothly (resetting play areas, washing bottles, doing the children's laundry, and cleaning kid meal areas).
- Sick Care: Provide dependable full sick care for the children when they are under the weather.
The Ideal Candidate
- Parenting Philosophy Alignment: Leans toward a respectful parenting approach that balances deep empathy with clear, loving boundaries. A natural affinity for mindful, health-conscious living is a wonderful bonus.
- Experienced & Confident: 5+ years of professional nanny experience, with proven expertise managing infant and toddler age groups simultaneously.
- Proactive & Autonomous: Operates with a high degree of autonomy, anticipating needs before being asked and keeping the day well-organized.
- High-Energy & Creatively Engaged: You bring a vibrant, extroverted energy and a highly imaginative spirit to everything you do. You don't just supervise play—you get on the floor, sing songs, get silly, and actively model enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine love of childhood.
- Warm & Nurturing Presence: A naturally calm, grounded, and emotionally steady demeanor that helps young children feel entirely safe and regulated.
- Exceptional Communicator: Values clear communication, keeps parents updated with photos/notes, and acts as a true collaborative partner.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of professional, verifiable nanny experience.
- Excellent references from previous long-term employers.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to renew immediately).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a reliable vehicle.
- Non-smoker.
Household Dynamics Note
Our home runs with a clear division of responsibilities so everyone can focus on what they do best. We have a house manager a few days a week who handles meal planning and prep, family laundry, and the deeper organizational work that keeps a busy family household running smoothly. A weekly deep cleaning service maintains the home. The nanny's focus is entirely on the child-related responsibilities outlined above. We value a collaborative, team-oriented person who works comfortably alongside others in the home. Please note we have a dog and cat in the home— we want to be upfront in case of allergies.
Compensation: $27.00 per hour
